NCL unveils Norwegian PearlTen restaurants, a rock-climbing wall and a bowling alley on Norwegian Cruise Line's latest ship
Norwegian Cruise Line's new ship is young, funky and innovative, and ideal for all the family
NCL has unveiled its newest ship, Norwegian Pearl, purpose-built for the cruise line's concept of Freestyle Cruising. This is a new, more relaxed, way of cruising, with no fixed dress code and no restrictions on when or with whom you dine, perfect for the Caribbean, where the ship will spend the winter. The 93,530 ton ship carries almost 2,400 passengers and defies the laws of traditional cruising. For a start, there are ten restaurants and 15 bars on board, including the ultra-hip Bliss Ultra Lounge, which has to be the coolest bar at sea with its plush deep red and purple decor and decadent day beds. The ship has the first ever bowling alley at sea, a climbing wall, a sports court, a fantastic spa, large casino, high-tech gym with yoga, pilates, kick boxing and spinning and an art nouveau-style theatre showing funky, high-energy shows. There's also a spacious kids' club and separate area for teens. There's a huge range of accommodation choices, from comfortable inside cabins to the lavish Garden Villas on Deck 14, with panoramic views, roof terrace, outdoor hot tub, private garden and butlers and concierges on tap. In between, there's a wide variety of balcony suites, including four Romance Suites with large balconies and a dining area within the suite for dinners a deux. Colours throughout the ship are bright and contemporary, reminiscent of the tropical locations in which the ship will sail. For more information, visit www.ncl.com.
