Great advice. It's amazing just to watch cruise ship passengers carrying their purchases back to the ship. There must be some major luggage handling occurring in the background!

That's great advice about packing entertainment stuff. What is UP with the awful TV viewing onboard? And you very well could have long stretches between ports when you really don't feel like swimming, drinking, eating or gambling. Another great reason to pack light is the size of the cabins. Standard rooms are sooo small. » desertblue - Cruise Packing Basics In response to Cruise Packing Basics posted by kelbycarr:Great article, need more like it! It's funny, but if we think about the things we needs with us, we can find mutliple uses for products, and be creative about our lighter-weight packing.

You know, my parents took a cruise around Fiji last summer, and what struck me msot from the photos (other than the fact that they made me sit through all 10,000 of them), wasthe sight oftheir cabin - so small, that their wet bathing suits were draped right over their bed. Only air space large enough to dry them! Jen

I've cruised with a window, and it wasn't much to write home about... and trying to cram a crib into the room was insane. We were having to climb into bed to go around it! We couldn't even dream of giving our baby a bath... all we had was a tiny shower. » desertblue - Cruise Packing Basics In response to Cruise Packing Basics posted by kelbycarr:DAn says one can leave the cruise cam on TV on in lu of a window. That's like the Starship Enterprise! Cool. Will have to do that next. -- posted by desertblue
