Bermuda's main cruise ship port offers great shopping, water sport activities, a maritime museum and easy access to the city of Hamilton.

Located in Bermuda’s west end, once Britain’s largest naval base outside of the United Kingdom, the Royal Naval Dockyard is a lively cruise port. This 75 acre facility is within easy walking distance to where the ships dock at King’s Wharf. The area includes a snorkel park, shopping mall, craft market and maritime museum. There is also ferry and bus service to Hamilton, Somerset and St. Georges.

Destination Dockyard

Hosted by the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines on Monday evenings from May to October, Destination Dockyard is a festival of local entertainment. Street vendor sell various crafts and food items while Gombey dancers perform to the drum beat wearing traditional costumes.

The Clocktower Mall

Easy to spot from the cruise ship terminal, the Clocktower Mall has two 100-foot towers. One tower shows the time while the other tower is a tide clock showing the time of high tide. Inside, the building houses over 24 boutiques selling British goods such as porcelain, fine china and tableware along with an array of tourist trinkets. Open Monday – Saturday from 9:30am – 6pm and Sundays from 10am – 5pm.

The Bermuda Craft Market

Established in 1987 by the Bermuda Department of Tourism and the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, the craft market features the fine work of over 60 Bermudians. Items available include Bermuda cedar-work, candle making, jewelry, pottery, banana dolls and painted glassware. Open daily from 9:30am-5pm in summer and 10am – 5pm in winter.

Snorkel Park, Beach and Watersports Centre

Just a short walk from the cruise ship dock is the small beach in Snorkel Park. Admission to the park is free but there is a charge for the various activities. Here you can rent snorkel equipment, paddleboats and kayaks. For the more adventurous, there are also underwater scooters, SNUBA tours and banana boat rides.

Getting Around Bermuda

Everything that encompasses the Royal Naval Dockyard is within easy walking distance of the pier. To see the rest of the island, the public ferry/bus system is your best option.

Rental cars are not available and taxis are expensive.

The Dockyard Ferry and Bus terminal is located a short walk from the pier. Both ferries and buses run from Dockyard, Paget, Warwick, Somerset and Hamilton all year and to St. George’s from April to October. The transportation pass, popular among visitors offers unlimited rides on the bus and ferry systems.
