New Hurtigruten expedition cruise from Iceland to Ushuaia

Take a unique expedition voyage from the Arctic to Antarctica with Hurtigruten, calling at ten countries along the way.

Travel between the ends of the earth on a one-off, once-in-a-lifetime expedition cruise, put together by niche cruising specialist Hurtigruten, the new name for Norwegian Coastal Voyage. Join the ship in Reykjavik, Iceland and travel down to Ushuaia in Argentina, 'the city at the end of the world', on this unique 65-day trip, stopping off at over ten countries along the way.

The ship, MS Fram, will travel down the west coast of the UK before heading across the Atlantic towards Newfoundland in Canada and down the East Coast of the USA. It then transits the Panama Canal and sails down the west coast of South America into Antarctica, finishing in Ushuaia in Argentina.

MS Fram, which carries just 328 passengers, is the latest ship to join the Hurtigruten fleet and comes into service in May 2007. It will serve Greenland this summer before embarking on its first trip to the southern hemisphere in September. The voyage departs Reykjavik on September 18, 2007 and arrives in Ushuaia in Argentina on November 22. Countries and ports of call include Nova Scotia, New York, Key West, Belize City, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Lima, Chile and Antarctica.

This is a fantastic chance to sail on a working ship, custom-built for expedition cruising and specially strengthened for getting through thick ice. There's no casino or cabaret; just good food, relaxing days and fascinating lectures in the company of like-minded travellers.
