Port Everglades is one of the most popular gateways to the Caribbean. According to the Port Everglades official website, the port welcomes more than 3 million passengers annually. In December 2009, the port will start welcoming Royal Caribbean’s new Oasis of the Seas to its recently expanded Terminal 18. But, that isn’t the only major cruise line using Fort Lauderdale as a home port.

Newest Port Everglades Cruise Terminal: Terminal 18

Terminal 18 will be the largest cruise terminal in Port Everglades with a total of 240,000 square feet. This Midport Cruise Terminal will have separate buildings for embarking and debarking passengers. It will have seating for 3,000, will feature a children’s play area and offer free WiFi.

Cruise Lines at Terminal 18 – Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises will both use this new terminal when it opens in December 2009, offering a selection of Caribbean cruises.

Location of Terminal 18 – Located on the west side of the Midport basin, the terminal is centrally located within Port Everglades.

Parking at Terminal 18 – There are a number of parking options for cruise passengers arriving with their own vehicle. Choose the surface parking at Terminal 18 or 19. Or choose the covered parking at the Midport Parking Garage (US$15 per day).
